Stage 3 Homicidal Ostriches; known as Norwegian Killer Ostriches (NKOs); are a by-product of Scandinavian Ostrich Insanity Syndrome (SOIS). The stages of Homicidalalitification are as follows: Stage 1: The Ostrich begins speaking Norwegian.
Stage 2: It begins to hum 'Rock the Casbah' by The Clash.
Stage 3: It now attempts to destroy all non-Ostrich entities it encounters.
Prevention
Planck stated that the less Ostriches you have in a population, the greater the percentage of Ostriches that will be Emus (except for between 9,422 and 17bm [sic], when the enzyme Ostrichase breaks down ~25% of Ostriches). Thus, by not hoarding Ostriches, one can help to lessen the problem.
There are also various local Ostrich Distribution Schemes in place that serve the same purpose.
Cure
The only cure is Ostrichase, which breaks down Ostriches into Emus. However, due to it's Optimum range of 9,422-17bm [sic], there is always the risk that attempted application of the enzyme could lead to a plague of 9,422=<NKOs>=17bm [sic].
